About Us

Funda Kasi NPC was founded in Mbekweni, Paarl, and officially registered under the CIPC on 19 February 2024. The organization was established by three directors : Mivuyo Sobekwa, Somila Topi, and Owethu Peki ,who shared the vision of creating equal access to educational opportunities for young people in underserved communities.

The idea was born out of a real challenge observed in local schools: many learners lacked proper guidance, applied for courses they did not qualify for, or missed opportunities due to low marks and limited access to resources. Funda Kasi exists to bridge this gap by offering career guidance, tertiary and bursary application support, mentorship, and community outreach programs that tackle both academic and socio-economic barriers.

At its core, Funda Kasi is driven by the belief that no learner should be left behind. By empowering students with knowledge, mentorship, and support, we are building a generation equipped to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

Our Vision & Mission

Vision:
To create a future where every learner, regardless of their socio-economic background, has equal access to education, guidance, and opportunities that empower them to thrive.
Mission:

Our mission is to remove barriers to education while nurturing both external support and internal growth.

Foundation Side: We address critical external challenges by providing access to stationery, school uniforms, sanitary products, and by raising awareness on mental health and substance/alcohol abuse.

Academy Side: We focus on learners’ internal growth through mentorship, career guidance, tutoring, tertiary application support, and free bursary application assistance.

Through this dual-stream approach, we empower learners with the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed, reflecting our belief that true educational change requires both support and opportunity.
